Price checker: shoppers scan once and see the price, in 9 models from 5 to 32-inch
A price checker is a touchscreen terminal with a two-dimensional scan engine: the shopper holds a product barcode to the scan window, and the screen shows the name, specs, unit price, member price and stock status. XTIOT builds 9 models, with screens from 5 to 32-inch, in two system lines, Android 11 and Windows, selected by mounting position and software environment.
- Seven screen sizes: 5 / 8 / 10.1 / 11.6 / 15.6 / 21.5 / 32-inch
- Two-dimensional imaging engine at 640×480, reads paper labels and codes on phone screens
- Powered by DC 12V or POE; the 802 series housing is under 2cm at its thinnest
- Android and Windows versions swap at the same size, with matching mounting holes
Let the machine take the repeated price questions
Shoppers scan and read for themselves, so staff no longer answer 'how much is this' all day. Queue pressure at the service desk drops.
The system price is the price
Promo, member and campaign prices are maintained in the back-end system, so the screen shows the system price and shelf labels no longer disagree with the checkout price.
Query records you can review
Which unit, which time slot, which products were scanned: these records return to the back-end system and inform layout and display decisions.
9 models, grouped by size and system
Four Android models (5 to 15.6-inch) cover sites that run only a price query page; five Windows models (10.1 to 32-inch) cover sites that run a local client, connect serial peripherals or need dual Ethernet ports.

Three positions in one store should not share one configuration. Matching each position costs less than one uniform model.
| Mounting position | Recommended model | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Shelf endcaps and cooler sides | XT802C(5″)/ XT802D(8″) | Width is limited; the housing is 110–143mm and one POE cable carries both power and data |
| Main aisle and category entrances | XT802E(10.1″) | Shows product image, specs and price together; 242×173×35mm mounts on a post without blocking the aisle |
| Store entrance and escalator landing | XT802F(15.6″)/ XTCM215(21.5″) | Readable from a distance, suited to promo posters and floor directories |
| Service desk, where a printed slip is needed | XTCM320 (32-inch, with 80mm printer) | Large screen plus on-site printing of price labels, coupons or queue numbers |
Configuration plans for six types of store and site
Each page recommends 1 to 3 models and explains why the other models do not fit.
Supermarkets and hypermarkets
The difference between supermarket price checkers is not the hardware but the position: a large screen at eye height on the main aisle, a 5 to 8-inch screen on shelf endcaps, and a 32-inch unit with a printer at the service desk. One store can mix three positions...
Convenience and fresh food
Convenience and fresh-format stores have short walkways and little wall space, so the price checker must be small and thin: the 8-inch XT802D mounts on a shelf post or cooler side, the 5-inch XT802C fits a narrow endcap slot, and POE saves the power cable...
Pharmacy and beauty
At a pharmacy the question is not only price: customers arrive with prescriptions, insurance codes or membership codes. The 10.1-inch XT802E with an OCR module reads documents and prescription codes, and an added NFC or ID card module...
Apparel stores
Apparel stores ask more than supermarkets do: is this available in another color, another size, at a nearby store. The 8-inch XT802D suits the shelf side, the 21.5-inch XTCM2...
Lottery and ticketing
Lottery outlets and ticket windows follow a fixed routine: scan the barcode on the ticket to check the number, look up results, read the claim rules. The 8-inch XT802D wall mount and the 15.6-inch XT802F-X86...
Libraries, hospitals, government
Public service counters usually do three things at once: look up information, read an ID, print a slip. The 21.5-inch XTCM215 takes optional ID card, NFC, card reader and printer modules, so one device covers all three...
Four questions buyers ask most
How is a price checker different from a tablet?
A tablet has no scan engine, no fixed mounting structure, and no thermal or power design for continuous use. A price checker integrates the two-dimensional engine, touchscreen, mainboard, Ethernet and serial ports in one housing, ready to mount once power and network are in.
Must it connect to the store system?
Not necessarily. For scan-and-see-price only, you can load a product price table and query it locally; to show member prices, stock and promotion rules, connect the store POS or product platform and let the software handle the interface.
Will the Android version slow down after two years?
A price checker runs a fixed query page, not a general-purpose tablet, so the load is light. RK3566 with 4G RAM running one query app leaves ample headroom for continuous operation. Heat dissipation and power quality affect service life more than a higher specification: leave clearance for airflow and use the supplied adapter.
Can we put our own brand on it?
Yes. Housing color, boot screen, packaging and in-system branding can all be changed; MOQ and tooling cost are assessed per project, see the Customization page.
