Where XT802E-X86 fits, and where it does not
Ruling out unsuitable locations first is faster than comparing specifications item by item.
Fit
- The store already runs Windows price checking or stock lookup software
- Legacy systems that need serial drivers, ActiveX controls or .NET components
- IT manages terminals centrally over remote desktop
- You need card readers or printers that only ship with Windows drivers
Not suitable
- You only need web-based price lookup and want a lower unit cost (choose the Android version)
- Boot time matters and the unit must be ready as soon as it is powered (the Android version boots faster)
How it differs from nearby models
Grouping models that differ only in screen size or operating system makes a wrong choice much less likely.

XT802E-X86 FAQs
How do I choose between the Android and Windows versions?
Start with the software stack. If the price page is a web page or an Android app, choose the Android version: it boots quickly, is simple to maintain remotely and keeps unit cost down. If you must run a Windows client, install serial drivers or use ActiveX controls, choose the X86 version. Both versions share the same screen size, housing and scan engine, so switching systems does not change the mounting dimensions.
Can we install our own software on the Windows version?
Yes. The terminal is a standard x86 platform, so once Windows 10 is installed you deploy software the way you would on any PC. We suggest a write-protected image, or turning on Unified Write Filter (UWF), so customer misoperation cannot alter the system.
How long does it take to boot, and can the price program start automatically?
A cold boot on the J1900 platform usually takes around 30 seconds, depending on how far the image is trimmed. You can set the price program to start at boot and enable automatic sign-in, so the unit goes straight to the query screen and customers never see the desktop.
