PoE or DC, Z-shaped stand or VESA: how to choose power and mounting

If the site has a network cable but no power outlet, choose PoE. If there is an outlet, DC 12V costs less. Pick the mount by wall type: Z-shaped stand for shelving and pillars (4 mounting holes), VESA01 for flat walls and floor stands. The 21.5-inch and 32-inch terminals have a built-in 220V power supply, ship with a wall bracket and can take a floor stand.

The PoE version is designed for 48V input and needs standard PoE power (48V / 48V+ networks). Do not connect non-standard passive injectors (12V/24V); the unit will not work and may be damaged.
Mounting

Three stands for three wall types

Z-shaped stand

Standard on the 802 series 5-inch / 8-inch / 10.1-inch models. 4 mounting holes fit shelf side panels, pillars and wooden walls. Leave a gap between the housing and the wall for cable routing and heat dissipation.

VESA01 hole pattern

For the 15.6-inch and 11.6-inch models. The standard hole pattern takes a wall bracket, swing arm or floor stand for flexible positioning; the mounting surface must carry the load and be reinforced.

Wall mount plus floor stand

The 21.5-inch and 32-inch models ship with a wall bracket and can take the XT215-Bracket floor stand. These terminals are heavy and have a built-in 220V supply, so the mounting surface must be reinforced and kept accessible for service.

Installation

Six notes on cable routing and height

  1. Keep the screen centre 1.35–1.45m above the floor (1.30–1.55m for large screens). The scan window sits below the screen, within easy reach.
  2. Run cables out of the back of the stand and leave 30cm of slack on both the network and power cable so the unit can be taken down for service.
  3. On steel stud walls, add a backing board before fixing. Use expansion bolts in concrete. Do not hang a 21.5-inch or 32-inch terminal on a partition that cannot carry the load.
  4. Do not mount directly under spotlights or facing shop window glass; glare on the scan window lowers the read rate noticeably.
  5. Leave 3–5cm of clearance behind the unit for airflow, and do not enclose it in a sealed wooden box or light box.
  6. Use Cat6 for PoE runs, no more than 90m per segment; beyond that, add a switch or switch to DC power.
FAQ

Power and mounting FAQ

Can a PoE unit run on a plain network cable?

Yes. A PoE unit connected to a standard switch still communicates, it just receives no power, so DC 12V supply is still needed. A DC unit connected to a PoE switch will not draw power and needs its own adapter.

How many price checkers can one PoE switch support?

Work from the switch power budget. At typical per-unit draw, a common 8-port PoE switch runs 4–6 price checkers safely; check the rated total PoE power, not just the port count.

Can we fix it with double-sided tape or adhesive?

Not recommended. The unit stays powered and customers press on it, so adhesive mounting works loose over time. Use at least 4 mechanical fixing points, and check the panel thickness on shelf side panels.

Why does the 21.5-inch need service clearance?

The terminal has a built-in 220V supply and mainboard; servicing means cutting power and taking it off the wall or opening the rear cover. Sealing all four sides makes removal impossible and reduces heat dissipation.

The wall is glass. How do we mount it?

You cannot drill into glass. Use a floor stand, hang a swing arm from the ceiling, or build a backboard that wraps the glass and fix to that. We confirm the method from site photos.

Send a photo of the mounting position

Photograph the wall material, outlet position and cable route together, and we will send the mounting method and parts list.
