Price checker customization: color, system, ports and packaging, changed per project

The 9 standard models cover most stores, but chain brands, system integrators and export customers usually need changes: housing color matched to the brand, a boot screen with their own logo, an added card reader module, packaging to destination-country rules. All of these are in scope, with MOQ and cost assessed per project.

Process

Six steps from requirement to mass production

  1. Requirements review: state the use case, the quantity, the items that must change, the target market and the certification requirements in one go.
  2. Plan and quotation: define what can and cannot change, and list tooling cost, certification cost and the unit price tiers.
  3. Sampling: build 1 to 2 sample units to the agreed specification so the customer can test software and peripherals.
  4. Sample approval: sign off the sample and freeze the structure, colour, silkscreen, system image and packaging.
  5. Trial run: produce to the approved sample, with functional and burn-in spot checks.
  6. Mass production and delivery: ship in batches against the delivery schedule, with documents and spares packed as agreed.
FAQ

Questions about customization

Does a color change need new tooling?

A color change needs no tooling: plastic parts are repainted and a sample confirmed against the color code. Tooling applies only to structure, cutouts or dimensions.

Can the mainboard be changed?

Within the current platform range you can change the configuration (RAM, storage, J1900 / J4125) without redesigning the mainboard. If you need special compute or interface support, we assess whether a suitable option exists, project by project.

What is the MOQ?

Standard configurations carry a lower MOQ. MOQ for color, silk print and packaging is set per project, and tooling projects must reach the quantity that amortizes the mold. Figures depend on configuration and process, so confirm with sales.

Can you support certification for the destination country?

We can supply samples, technical documents and testing support. Certificates come from accredited laboratories; cost and lead time follow the destination and standard, and the certificate holder can be arranged as required.

Can the system be preinstalled with our software and locked down?

Yes. On Android we can preinstall the APK and set it as the default launcher with the system interface hidden; on Windows we can configure auto logon, launch at start-up and a unified write filter.

How long does sampling take?

Standard samples can be arranged quickly; samples with color, silk print or structural changes need extra sampling and approval time. The schedule depends on current production loading.
